That seems to be Tony's mantra when talking to Bruce. It's like he can bring intention into reality if he just repeats it enough times in his friend's presence. Working together is a good start. He's glad that they have managed to settle into something that comfortable, but he's ready to move forward. And that's what this is: a step forward.
Or a leap, depending on one's point of view. Tony is sitting next to Bruce on a couch, leaning over him with an arm over the man's shoulders so he can't escape. Not that he thinks Bruce really wants to escape, or that he could physically stop him if he did, but the idea is what matters here. Tony's making a point.
"So I've really gotta ask... What do you think about sex?"
And that is the other thing about dealing with Tony. Always go for shock value if you want an honest answer. Of course, he doesn't know what reaction he's going to get, but hopefully it won't be a bad one. If the line ends up hitting the wrong note, it can be a joke and they'll just be two friends sharing some time on the couch together in front of the TV. If it doesn't... well, he's hoping for that to lead them somewhere more.

Apr. 27th, 2012 11:28 amSuccess of the day: getting Bruce Banner onto the couch next to him. This is a success for Tony, because Bruce is a hard person to keep in close proximity. Even when there really are no stressful events to trigger any unexpected changes, Tony can't always get him to accept the close contact that is Tony Stark. So this is a victory.
Also Phase One of his operation for the evening.
He's only an inch or so to the side, close enough to just wrap his arm around him, but he doesn't. Not yet. Instead he puts his hand on Bruce's thigh, drumming his fingers lightly with a dry amusement at the whole situation.
"Comfortable? You look like your trying to impersonate my wall, Banner."
And maybe he's not really that stiff, but Tony has a goal he's moving toward with this.

[Tony hadn't really planned on them getting this far, and Justin was right in thinking that there was a chance he'd come to his senses on the walk home. It wasn't too far. Tony always knew where to get a quick drink in any city, even if that city was a ship. Still, he wasn't completely out of his mind just yet. He might have had the time to sober up by now.
But even away from the bar he doesn't slow down. The privacy of his room (Justin Hammer in his room) only adds more fuel to the fire, because now it's just them. One on one. They are up close and personal, with Tony practically dragging Justin in and then backing him against the door as he closes it. There's a click as he turns the lock, and then he's breathing hot against the man's neck, teeth grazing impatiently over his skin as he kisses and sucks on it.]
No more interruptions.
[He says that almost like it's Justin's fault they had to switch places, knowing it'll probably hit a button. This is a terrible idea already, and somehow that's just making it better. Tony picks up where he left off. He's an engineer; a genius. Of course he remembers. His hands slide up under Justin's shirt, fingers retracing their paths up and down his sides perfectly before he moves them around to the front of his pants. He moans when he strokes him. It's a hungry caress right through the cloth and he remembers how good it felt for him, so he's returning the favor. If Justin decides to quit now... Well, Tony's not letting this get that far. He's doing his best to coax him right back into bad decision territory, making all the right noises to let him know he's still very interested in their game. Only when he's reasonably sure he has Justin's attention does he lean back.]
Go ahead and get comfortable. I'd show you around the place, but I'm kind of busy right now.

Tony was at least behaved enough to wait until they were well away from the rest of the party. He even politely excused himself so no feelings would be hurt. In Tony's book, this was a huge step forward from his former self. He was thinking of others. Showing consideration.
And that's why he barely gave the door time to shut as he pulled Clint into his room and pushed him back against the wall. He was only too glad to pull off the sweater (seriously, Steve was thoughtful, but Tony had his limits), and toss it aside. He slipped his hands under the edge of Clint's sweater and ran his fingers over the top of his pants, brushing against the skin.
"I think we can find something to entertain you in here, Barton."
The murmur was soft and amused, almost gentle for Tony. He was pretty sure someone might complain if they heard the two of them during the party, but they weren't going to catch them. That was the point. One finger snagged the edge of Clint's pants and Tony pulled him forward, pressing up against him with a small roll of his hips. He could still remember the echo of the last time he got Clint's hands on him, and he'd decided that the man was talented in more than just his ability to handle a bow.
"How about it? Think you can spare the time?"
